Visiting 2007 Field School in Franklin, NH

The first week of the field school corresponded perfectly with the four hottest days of the year so far, with X-Tra humidity. I went to visit and took popsicles.

This week has been cooler. I went to visit and take Tyvek tags, a monopoly of my housemate Doug's, so far as I know. The combination of this and another firld school in Durham, NH, made them use up tags faster than they had expected. I hope it's good in Durham, because all they are finding in Franklin is various degrees of poison ivy (I am more terrified of poison ivy than of ticks, blackflies, bad weather, or mosquitoes) and, now they are out of the fringe of trees, perfectly square holes with perfectly simple stratigraphy.

That is a detailed, rather exquisite rendering.

They have not found much in the way of finds. Perhaps it will get better.

I'm extraordinarily jealous you got to visit; I was planning on going up July 3rd, but forgot to call for direction on July 2nd, so...anyways. I still hope to make it up for a day or two though, and make sure that I haven't forgotten what flakes look like in a screen. ;-)
